Ronald McDonald House
FYI: Ronald McDonald House recieves no money from the United Way. All monies raised to support the house come from private individuals and corporations. At our Cincinati Ronald McDonald House, a room costs $78 per day to maintain. (There are 48 rooms.) Guests staying at the house are asked to pay $15 per day - if they can afford it. Many families cannot even afford $15. The average payment actually received is less than $6 per day per room.

Nancy's Hallmark is Department 56 Ambassadors to the local Ronald Mc Donald House in Cincinnati. Nancy's has various fund raising events during the year, including raffles and auctions, with proceeds going to RMH charities. Nancy also collects pop-tabs and keeps a large container in the store for friends of Ronald McDonald House who drop off the tabs for recycling. The pop-tab is the pull ring found on all beverage cans. The tabs are made of pure aluminum and are worth more than the can itself as the tabs can be turned into many aluminum products, whereas the aluminum can can only be re-cycled back into another can.

Last year Nancy's and her Collector Friends and customers raised over $5,000 for the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati. Fund raising is more important than ever as the new, larger Ronald McDonald House is now complete. The project cost was ten million dollars with most of the money coming from private pledges and fundraisers. Nancy's has pledged $25,000 to RMH Charities and is the sponsor of the "Nursery Room", located just off the kitchen and dining area. Thanks to Nancy's many Collector Friends, fund raisers and raffles will have this pledge paid off in 2003. When Nancy's sponsors a fund raiser, all merchandise and promotional costs are paid for by Nancy's. Every penny raised in the fund raiser goes directly to RMH Charities.

Whitly City
Clothing and Food for Whitly City, KY. One of the top ten improvished areas in the United States. Nancy's is a drop off point for food and clothing and periodically sends a truck to this improvished area. The clothing goes to the Good Shepherd Chapel and the canned food products go to the Food Pantry at the McCreary County Christian Center in Whitley City. McCreary County is just south of Lake Cumberland along the Tennessee State line.

Fanconi Anemia
Fanconi Anemia is a rare bone marrow disease that affects young children. THe disease is almost always fatal. As the child reaches his/her teenage years, the bone marrow begins to shut down making the child vulnerable to all kinds of diseases. There are only about 4,000 diagnosed cases in the world. Two of Nancy's grand children have this rare disease. Donations and proceeds from raffles go to either the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund or to the family of Eric and Beth Losekamp. Nikki age 12, the eldest of the two children will recieve a bone marrow transplant some time in October or November. Eric Lee age 7, (also know as "The Bubster" "Lil-E") is beginning to see his blood counts drop as he nears his teenage years. Nancy appreciates everyone's prayers and is grateful for donations to the Fanconi fund as well as helping with the family's medical bills.

NIKKI Update - In December of 2001, heaven gained its newest angel. Nikki died within the 24 hour period of her 14th birthday. We thank everyone for their prayers and continued support of Nikki's family as they mourn the loss of their daughter and Eric Lee's sister. Eric Lee's blood counts continue to slowly drop and we ask for your continued prayers. Beth and Eric have started up a web site "Meet Eric Lee Losekamp". This web site will keep you up to date on Eric Lee. Please check in and sign their guestbook.
